FAQ

There are a lot of terms in our industry that describe what we do. Low-Voltage is the trade name most closely associated with our business because we install wires that pass low-voltage signals. Most of the time we are referred to by one of the following services we provide, followed by “guys” or “company”. Audio-Video, Home Automation, Networking, Lighting, Security, Home Theater, Custom Installer….Guys.

We don’t mind how you refer to us, as long as you know that Digital Systems and Integration is your technology friend when you need help. We have experience doing very large jobs over $250,000 and smaller jobs or repair jobs as well. Our focus is on service and providing you with the best technology solutions for your home or business.

With Chicago and the surrounding areas being so big, there are a lot of great companies that provide similar services to ours, and unfortunately, many that have a bad reputation, as with any trade.

Here are some things that make us different:

  • We have been in business for over 8 years as a company, with many of our employees having 20 years or more experience in the industry.
  • Our employees all work exclusively for us, so we hold them to our company standards of providing the best experience possible and making technology work for you.
  • We pre-build most systems in our office and test them with any programs that need to be loaded to reduce the amount of time we spend in your home.
  • We are licensed and insured.
  • We have an office which you can come to visit, we are not working from our homes.
  • We invest in a lot of training for our team to ensure they are up-to-date on the latest technology and trends.
  • We buy directly with many of our vendors which provides better support and pricing than others.
  • We’ve completed hundreds of jobs each year in The Four Seasons, The Waldorf Astoria Residences, The Gold Coast, The Loop, Lincoln Park, West Loop, Lakeview, Rigley View, River North, Andersonville, Roscoe Village, Norwood Park, Willing, and surrounding suburbs such as North Shore and Park Ridge.
  • We are well known and respected by our clients, builders, architects, designers, and other trades that we work with and would be happy to provide references upon request.

Home Automation and Smart Systems

Pre-wiring for home automation and smart systems is crucial in modern architectural projects. This includes running cables and conduits for lighting control systems, motorized shades and blinds, smart thermostats and HVAC controls, security systems, audio/video distribution, voice control, and smart home assistants.

Networking and Connectivity

High-speed internet and reliable connectivity are essential for modern buildings. Pre-wiring for networking and data distribution should be a priority, including Ethernet cabling, conduits for future cable runs, dedicated wiring for wireless access points, and centralized wiring closets or distribution points.
